Into the vortex
by Mulele
If it seems like I’m writing less it’s because I’m drawing more. Much more.
They say that the hardest part of any creative endeavor is letting go. For myself, however, it was the image production that drove me mad. It left me hollow. In fact, the only thing I really enjoyed was the “letting go” part. Seeing my work on display in a book, getting my satisfaction from a picture swimming in detail.
But that’s not what makes it for me anymore. I’m finding myself drawn into this new style of work and I like that the process of making as well as completing a piece or a page of art in just a few hours. It used to take days per picture/panel (and that’s bad for a comic).
With this new momentum, I dive head first into projects long since postponed, neglected and forgotten. I will be writing about Tokyo and other inspirations from time to time but for now I’ll be finishing up the projects of my main passion, comics. And so, from my current comic project I give you this piece.
Enjoy.

Love it. My hardest part is letting go too. Very nice post.
This is cool. And I can relate to the topic. I let go of what was growing into passion only to return back to year later.
Wonderful illustration – and so very well said. It is just recently that I have let go and work in various mediums and manner instead of worrying about the final result. Very happy to have stopped by your blog via IF. All the best to you.
Love your image–it’s very minimal, but has an epic quality to it … like she’s leaping into the next part of an adventure …
